Rodd and Lekue launch a new veggie ricer for the superfood generation that aims to make healthy food an everyday reality.

Lekue has built its brand around identifying and simplifying everyday kitchen tasks, and using human-centred design to innovate and asked Rodd to partnered with them to help scope new opportunities for European consumers. We have helped numerous consumer businesses with our blend of foresights and insight work to help with the big ‘what’s next’ question and have worked with many household kitchen tool brands over the years to create everything from single tools to entire ranges.

We quickly began to build a top-down view of the superfood movement, and identified a range of possible opportunities before down-selecting to two areas of interest: hasselback vegetables, and vegetable ricing.

Ricing of vegetables, relies on quickly and conveniently reducing the head of cauliflower or broccoli to rice-like grains so they can be steamed or microwaved; which is messy and time consuming. Our ricer took hundreds of hours to refine to the effortless simplicity of the product we have launched.
