Peter Phillips

History
After graduating in 1982 with a BA in Industrial Design from Central St Martinšs School of Art, Peter began his career as a designer at Cambridge Industrial Design. In 1984 he went on to join product design company, BIB Design Consultants. Four years later Peter joined Roberts Weaver as Senior Designer where he further developed his International portfolio working on Far Eastern clients such as Hitachi, Matsushita, Panasonic and Sansui.
In 1990 he joined tangerine, alongside Clive Grinyer and Martin Darbyshire and the now VP of Design at Apple Computers, Jonathan Ive,
At Tangerine his work with Far Eastern clients such as Samsung, Hitachi and LG Electronics firmly established tangerine as an international consultancy. In the 15 year relationship with LG Peter and his team designed over 50 different products for most of the LGšs brown and white good categories.
Peteršs award-winning product design credentials also resulted in the company establishing a long-term retained relationship with Pace Micro Technology to help establish direction for over 25 products designed to meet a rapidly emerging and changing business environment.
In 2004 Peter joined The Brewery as Managing Partner in charge of Product Design. Peter and his team created products for Stanton USA (DJ equipment), Luxury mobile phones for LG in Korea and an extensive range of innovative DECT phones for SunCorp, an OEM manufacturer for European telcošs and Xact in USA.
At Rodd
Joined in September 2007 as a Director and has brought a wide base of new and old clients including Galanz in China, SGW (formerly SunCorp), Kenwood, ADB and EchoStar.
Peter has been external examiner at DeMontford University and Southampton Solent University and this year starts the same position at South Bank University.
