Rodd are experts in the design of such 3d Product brands. Our designers work with clients and end-users alike to understand both the commercial and practical needs of both parties, blended with over a decade of ingenuity, professional design and manufacturing experience to help our clients pioneer some of the world’s most influential brands. This experience has brought comfort to many global corporations, would be start-ups and entrepreneurs over our history – our skills are invaluable when helping fledgling companies establish their first steps into a new market. Structural Packaging InnovationThis highly commercial arm of Rodd Industrial design has helped partner some of the world’s biggest FMCG and Pharmaceutical brands to significantly improve functional performance and manufacturing costs of their aerosol closures, pumps and dispensers. Born out of the industrial designers mindset of ‘simple is best’ Rodd has successfully overcome several of the sectors major innovation hurdles to secure a number of global patents and license deals. Innovation WorkshopsUndertaking any new venture is a huge task. It can sometimes grind to a halt even before it’s started - long before secure funding has been secured - due to the often daunting costs associated with design development. The Rodd industrial design fixed fee design innovation workshop helps stimulate and ‘enhance’ the concept ideas of innovators and entrepreneurs. It gives that ‘great’ idea a little guidance by kick starting, validating and mapping the expectations of a product development journey at a cost that won’t prohibit progression. After signing a confidentiality agreement, we listen to your idea, and involve an expert range of designers and engineers to validate ideas, brainstorm a wide range of concepts, distil and refine concepts into a choice of directions, and create a range of explanatory visuals. The end of the process would provide you with a package to present to manufacturers, investors or potential licensees to seek backing for detail design development. This valuable workshop brings concepts to life, giving ammunition for financial buy-in, patent applications or solving long-term problems. After the Design Innovation Workshop is complete, we at Rodd can help you with a ‘next steps’ quotation that sets out expectations for downstream development and detail design costs. B Surface development and production designOur engineers are core to the Rodd success; their contrasting skills and mindsets are the perfect partner to the free and easy creative minds of the industrial designers. Rodd's breadth of industry experience is invaluable in validating many of the creative concepts proposed by Rodd designers and clients' in-house teams. Rodd offers clients a standalone engineering design service:- this can be either in partnership with your in-house creative teams, to validate concepts or to help steer designs through the pre-production stages when detail design and material specification are pivotal to the success or failure of a product development programme. Rapid Prototyping and tooling servicesVia our proven network of strategic suppliers Rodd offers clients a project managed Rapid Prototyping and Injection moulding tooling programme. This service is aimed at those who are perhaps new to the Rapid prototyping and tool-making arena and need help to select appropriate processes and vendors or those design teams that wish to simply outsource all of the day-to-day ‘grind’ of the quotation and ‘chasing’ process of Rapid prototyping. All of our suppliers have been proven over the years via our own commercial full service industrial design or technical packaging projects. Each brings their own area of key specialisation, whether this is their own particular process innovations, favoured production volumes or market sector expertise. Advanced visualisationHelping clients visualise new product concepts is one of the most important skills in the industrial designer’s armoury. Rodd have refined these skills over countless commercial projects. Trading on our experience, we now offer clients a standalone advanced visualisation service. Using the industries leading visualisation software we can produce highly seductive images of products that will help everyone in the product development cycle buy into your vision. Not only can we help you visualise products that don’t yet exist but we can also use your own engineering CAD data to help you explore the effect new materials, finishes or applied graphics would have on an existing product. | ||||
